Tuesday, 28th of August
We depart Cusco after breakfast for our day’s coach ride to Lake Titicaca. We will stop en route to visit the Temple of Viracocha (Raqchi in Quechua), the creator deity of pre-Columbian and Incan peoples, and to have lunch.
We will spend the three nights of our Post-Conference Trip in the quiet village of Chucuito, just outside of Puno and right on the shores of the lake. Dinner will be at our hotel. All participants will stay at the following hotel:
Taypikala Hotel Puno Lago
After breakfast at our hotel, participants are able either to enjoy a day of relaxation on the beautiful grounds of Taypikala (where lunch will be served), or to pre-register for an optional boat trip onto Lake Titicaca. A private boat will sail first to the floating islands of the indigenous Uros people, which are made entirely of woven reeds, and then to Taquile, a lovely and small island amidst the still and bright waters of the lake. We’ll have lunch on Taquile before sailing back to Chucuito.
Our entire group will have dinner together in our hotel.
Thursday, 30th of August
Our final day at Lake Titicaca is an open one. Breakfast will be at our hotel, and then participants are welcome to do as they feel. Wandering through the village of Chucuito, stopping to visit the nearby Inca Uyu fertility temple, meditating at the shores of the lake, a day to do anything or nothing at all.
Lunch and dinner will be served at our hotel.
